In the past few years, Day One had laid on tours to Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey (home to many New Testament churches. Israel continues to be by far the most popular tour. The tours are led by men who love the Lord, who have experience in leading tours and are very knowlegeable on the areas being visited. DayOne run tours around the British Museum and below is a comment from a recent tour.
‘Dear Clive and Ian,
Thank you VERY much for such an amazing tour on Saturday. I have been inundated with lots of compliments about how good our tour guide was.
Everyone was captivating by your brilliant story-telling. On a hot, sticky day with poor acoustics and background noise people commented how fascinating your tour was. A few people have asked if you have any notes that we could be emailed (we were very impressed that you didn't need to use any notes of your own!) Thank you.
Many, many thanks,

The group left Luton airport on a cold March morning to travel to Israel. Never having been to ‘the Land’ at this time of year I was not sure what to expect. It turned out to be a brilliant time of year to go, not least because the plants were in full bloom, and a greater appreciation of a ‘land flowing with milk and honey’ was able to be understood.
My fellow leader was Professor Julian Evans, author of the remarkable ‘God’s trees’ published by Day One. To have a forestry expert in the group was a tremendous blessing to all, as Julian opened our eyes to the many wonderful ways God blessed the land through what is growing there. The type of sycomore (note the spelling) tree up which Zacchaeus climbed in Jericho, including the description of ‘poor man’s figs’, and the many trees at Dan, all took on new meaning through Julian’s explanations. It was a solemn thing to contemplate the sufferings of the Lord Jesus when Julian revealed to us what were probably the thorns that made up the mocking crown thrust onto our Saviour’s head.
At Julian’s suggestion we visited two sites I had never been to before, the Jerusalem Botanic garden, not far from the Knesset, which is a real delight where many species of plant and tree are being grown. But the real treasure was on the last day before we flew home, when we visited Neot Kedumim not far from Tel Aviv airport. It is a Biblical landscape reserve, full of the most astonishing things. We were guided around for two hours, but a complete day would not be long enough to see everything.
Our guide Angelina was brilliant and a pleasure to work with, and Amir our driver was superb. After visiting Caesarea Philippi Angelina took us to a Druze village where a family opened their home up to us and served us with a delicious lunch.
If you have never been to Israel do try and go, for Galilee never fails to amaze, but if you have been, try and go on a trip with Julian Evans, you will be richly rewarded. •
